LANDWorksCAD is an easy-to-use professional level software specifically created for Landscape Designers and Landscape Architects and is not an engineering software for computer nerds.
All landscapers using AutoCAD (or Bricscad) will benefit from the incredibly easy to use features that LANDWorksCAD brings to the user interface in a single, simple to understand menu.
Take the power of your AutoCAD (or Bricscad) software to the next level.

The software ships with a comprehensive PDF manual and links to YouTube videos to teach you right from the start. you will be using the tools in minutes, the software will pay for itself immediately you start using it.

Use LANDWorksCAD to create sketch plans, 3D perspectives, sections, concept plans, planting plans, hard works plans, construction details, plant schedules, contour plans, irrigation plans, lighting plans, elevations, presentations and more. The plant library alone is reason enough to purchase the software - You can use your existing blocks too if desired.
LANDWorksCAD is totally unique in using an Excel spread sheet for the plant database, keeping it sooo simple (KISS). The library is huge with more than 2,200 separate species and the ability to easily edit and create your own plant list to suit your needs. You are not locked in to plants from any one region, zone, continent or supplier.

Because LANDWorks for AutoCAD (and Bricscad) works natively with .DWG files, you can continue to share your designs with architects, town planners, surveyors and public authorities. You can open and edit their files or even scan and accurately scale existing paper based drawings ready to start your design.
Scanned drawings can be imported into LANDWorksCAD where they can be accurately rescaled and used as an underlay for your designs. Ideal too for aerial photographs, Google Earth images and site plan information. Survey drawings can be 'converetd' to Existing Tree drawings ready for documenting and editing. No need to redraw, automatically convert the surveyors tree circles to Existing Tree blocks with attached attribute data. Automatically number and label existing foliage and generate instant accuarte Tree Schedules.
Digital or scanned photographs and other bitmap images can be incorporated into your drawings allowing for complex logo's and graphic illustrations of the plants and surrounds that relate to your design. Let nature's own imagery paint a picture for you and your clients to appreciate.

Click on a plant or feature and LANDWorksCAD will give you the correctly named label (call-out) to place just where you want and in the style you choose. Multiple plants are also counted and quantities added to the label if desired.
One more click and let LANDWorksCAD count all the plants and place an accurate plant schedule and legend in your drawing. It knows which plants are proposed and which are existing plants, it even knows if you have forgotten to label a plant!
Accurate take-off and costing tools linked to your office standard layers calculate the materials for each job with confidence. Calculate areas, lengths, angles and quantities straight off the drawing, even around complex curves.

Because LANDWorksCAD for AutoCAD (and BricsCAD) uses standard CAD commands, you don't have to learn a completely new program. Just add the new tools to your existing palette of commands for instant access and use.

All the schedules and Labels update immediately on your command.

Q: What is the difference between the original LANDWorksCAD that uses RealCAD as its core CAD 'engine' and this one, LANDWorksCAD for AutoCAD or BricsCAD?
A: When you purchase the original LANDWorksCAD, you get RealCAD included, so you don't need any other CAD software - the original LANDWorksCAD is therefore a stand alone program, but when you purchase LANDWorksCAD for AutoCAD or BricsCAD you will need either AutoCAD full or BricsCAD to use the software.
Also, the original RealCAD based version uses the .CAD file extension, whilst AutoCAD and BricsCAD use the .DWG file type. DWG is more common and therefore if you need 100% .DWG compatibility you should use the BricsCAD or AutoCAD version of LANDWorksCAD.
Q: Can I use LANDWorksCAD with AutoCAD LT?
A: No. AutoCAD LT does not support the use of plug-in applications. If you are an AutoCAD LT user and want to run LANDWorksCAD we recommend switching over to BricsCAD. It is more powerful and less expensive whilst being almost identical. We can provide special assistance and pricing to make this option very attractive.
Q: I don't use CAD at the moment, should I buy LANDWorksCAD stand-alone software that comes with RealCAD or LANDWorksCAD for AutoCAD and BricsCAD?
A: As you mentioned in your question, LANDWorksCAD stand-alone software includes RealCAD. RealCAD is much easier to learn and use than AutoCAD and has a couple of additional features as well as being much cheaper than AutoCAD, so the LANDWorksCAD stand-alone would typically be a better option for someone new to CAD design.
If you are in an office that already uses AutoCAD or you communicate with clients and associates who insist only on DWG file format then we recommend LANDWorksCAD for BricsCAD. BricsCAD is reasonably priced and almost identical to AutoCAD, and it uses DWG natively as its file format.
Q: Is LANDWorksCAD for AutoCAD (and BricsCAD) the 'LT' (2D) or 'Pro' (2D and 3D) version?
A: LANDWorksCAD for AutoCAD (and BricsCAD) is the full 'Pro' version and includes both 2D and 3D functionality.
Q: Is LANDWorksCAD for AutoCAD available for the Mac version of AutoCAD?
A: No. Not at this time. Most users choose a PC as the Mac version of AutoCAD is very different from the PC version. Clients with Macs often run Windows on their Mac along side their Mac O/S.
In a recent marketing study we found that one of the core reasons Landscape Designers and Landscape Architects choose LANDWorksCAD as their preferred design tool is the excellent support and ease of learning.
